The seven great questions - Sacraments and everyday life

Michael Bruhn (Lenker - Region of Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal)

From gene modification to hospice care, from the desire to change the world to questions of guilt and destiny, relationships, jobs and vocation and simply managing everyday life: each of the sacraments is surrounded by a host of ethical and practical questions which we would like to begin to explore, as an encouragement for everybody’s own searching and finding.

'The Fire of the love that creates beings' - Transformation Processes in Your Own Life and the Sacraments

Bertolt Hellebrand (Priest - Frankfurt/Main Community, Germany)

Do we want to change? Or should everything stay the way it is?
The power of fire is, like the power of love, one of the most powerful transforming forces we know.
How do we use the fire power of the spiritual instruments that the Christian Community can offer in the sacraments? And what does this have to do with the *baptism by fire*, which John the Baptist proclaimed us promisingly?

Christ experience in the present - the sphere of the return

Albrecht Schwenk (Lenker - Region Deutschland-Mitte, Germany)

In the Greek original text of the New Testament, the word “parousía”, which in its literal meaning means “existence, presence”, is usually most often translated with “return” Where is this sphere of existence of Christ, just nowadays where so much does not carry as any more? How can we incorporate its flowing and transforming force into our lives, giving it such a “reason” not in the present, but from its “future presence”?

The Go-Between God --Exercises towards an understanding of the Holy Spirit

Tom Ravetz (Lenker - Region Great Brittain and Ireland)

The Spirit does not compel but allures us towards fulfilling our vocation as human beings by making choices in freedom. Conversation and exercises will help us to experience our connectedness to each other and to the “fiery heart of the divine love, the eternal gaze of the Father towards the Son, of the Son towards the Father.” (J. Taylor, The Go-Between God)

Birth experiences (delivery) as understanding and help for education

Jeanne Meijs-Stolk (Author - Sampovereniging van Actief Beeldende Therapeuten, The Netherlands)

The birth (meaning the delivery, not one’s own birth) is a small and unique life story for itself. It happens a lot, and besides the mother other people also play a role. Different experiences and “coincidences” jump into the eye. Through the brief narrative of your own birth story and subsequent discussion, the images from this personal history become visible and we can learn to understand them so that they can be useful in education.

Presence

Lisanne Eblé-Bekman ( - Institute for Human and Organizational Development (IMO), The Netherlands)

Down in the “U” is about letting go of what we know and think, to recognize what is, to endure what causes chaos and to allow what is announced by the future. It requires imagination from intuition and the unconscious. Do you want to get new insights and ideas from your unconscious wisdom? From different sides, we will approach the mystery of the “community” in the exchange, without losing sight of who has come to baptize us with the fire of the spirit. There arise tasks for the communities when they go the path from Whitsun to Michael and they need the Whitsun fire of enthusiasm, the courage to face the challenges of our time, as a complement.

Waldtraut Fetscher (Psychotherapist & communication trainer - Germany)

In speaking, doors can open or a wall can rise between us. In empathic attitude, a listener can hear what the speaker wants or needs, as long as he succeeds in bringing the feelings and needs into an appropriate form. This is a contribution to peace in people and in the world. In the meeting, strangers can listen to you so that you say things you will be amazed at. And vice versa too!

Islam as believe

Anna Dijk (Islamologist - Fahm Institut, The Netherlands)

In this session, a personal story is the focus: from what do you create strength and against what do you fight?

Understanding between religions and the effect of the Christ-being in it

Bernard Heldt (Orthopedagogist / developmental psychologist - The Netherlands)

This idea is central: every religion is characterized by the person of the founder, the culture and the time in question, and the fact that Christ is active in it. In essence, there are similarities: attention is focused on consciousness, morality and integrity. Through respect for religions before these starting points, receptiveness arises for the effectiveness of Christ’s being. Statements by Rudolf Steiner underline the above view.

'How do the opposing powers relate to human beings and to nature in connection to our morality?'

Laura R. Bargmann (Director - Drempeltheater, The Netherlands)

For the first time in history of theatre R. Steiner shows the opposing powers Lucifer and Ahriman in the 4th scene of the first Mystery Drama “The Portal of the Initiation”. The Drempeltheater will represent this scene together with the 6th scene. The acting of the opposing powers is the theme that gives name to the workshop. A very current topic. During speech exercises the differences between Lucifer and Ahriman will ‘sound’ and the importance of “lively” speech will be clearly experienced.

Death and Life - Art and Play

Tom Tritschel (Priest - Bochum Community, Germany)

Life and death are inextricably linked. There is no process of creation, of whatever kind, that works without death. The element of motion, which we call life, and which contains growth and reproduction, needs even the elements of death in order to remain in motion at all. They lead to a “stop” and thus enable new things. Art is the way in which attention is paid to perceive these deaths, and then to make them creative.

Nora Minassian (Priest - Community of Pennsylvania, USA)

In our technologically oriented world, how do we recognize lies, illusions and virtual realities? What is the way to the Truth? With endless information streaming through multi-media, how do we learn to discern between truth and untruth and between what is essential and non-essential? How do we experience the reality of the Spirit behind each phenomenon?

The Fire in Jeroen Bosch

Lisette Buisman- Walbeek (Priest - Community Zeist, The Netherlands)

Silliness and sin play an important role in the life of Jeroen Bosch. He was convinced that the final judgement was inevitable: the prophecy of the apocalypse would manifest itself. Today we are also before a threshold. Now man himself must give himself his direction. With inner strength he can learn to look at evil.
After an introduction, we look together at his work, so we can start an exchange. Each painting has its own expression, do we recognize it?

Patrick Kennedy (Seminary Director - Spring Valley Community, NY, USA)

We live in such an amazing moment in our spiritual history. It is a moment of true spiritual freedom. Can we achieve trust in the force of praying through looking after the aetheric forces?

Antje Schmidt-Kühl (Teacher for research in formative forces - Gesellschaft fuer Bildekraefteforschung.de, Germany)

I want to follow three steps:
1. Step by step we will shift our daily consciousness to the field of the aetheric and gain confidence into our own possibility of perception for these kind of forces.
2. Within the aetheric we will look after the power of prayers and verses from R. Steiner.
3. Within the aetheric Christ is to be found. Connected with Him we will face the problems of our time.

The meditation of colour and the acting of Christ in the colours.

Kees Veenman (Teacher - The Netherlands)

First we build a base by means of colour phenomena, focusing on the gestures of the colours.
Then we practice with two different colour meditations: the one is directed inward, out of the activity of the soul. The second is directed outwards, e.g. On the blue sky.
Finally, we come to the effectiveness of the Christ in different colours. My colour research has shown that Christ has added a future perspective to every colour.

Paul Doesburg, Marjolein Doesburg (Researcher - The Netherlands)

First is shown how the non-material reality layer can be made visible in food. What do these insights demand from our thinking and our action to come to an agriculture which nourishes our entire human being?
In the second part, we look at the relationship: healthy soul – healthy body. We are talking about “inner getting healthy”. Practical examples of everyday life show how to work on moral health.
